An Axis of Light: Gledhill Park Modern – Linear House

On a classic narrow lot in the Gledhill Park neighbourhood, Linear House is an exercise in geometric precision and the manipulation of light. The design is organized around a powerful central axis that runs the entire length of the home, creating an uninterrupted sightline from the front sitting room to the private garden sanctuary in the back. This strong linearity is the home’s defining feature, informing every design choice.

The horizontal flow is punctuated by dramatic vertical elements—a double-height atrium, soaring window compositions, and an open-riser staircase—that draw daylight deep into the core of the building. The material palette is a restrained conversation between textures: the dark, graphic brick of the facade gives way to bright, minimalist interiors with warm wood floors and expansive glass. Every room is a vignette, every window a carefully composed frame, proving that even within urban constraints, a home can feel boundless, open, and full of light.

An Oblique Perspective: Woodbine Heights Modern – Northwest 10

Northwest 10 is a programmatic response to site and light. Situated in the evolving Woodbine Heights neighbourhood, the residence introduces a new geometric language to the community’s traditional streetscape. The home’s entire mass is rotated precisely 10 degrees off the cardinal grid, a subtle but powerful shift that fundamentally reorients the living experience.

This deliberate angularity engages the building in a constant dialogue with the sun, capturing morning light in the open-concept living spaces and casting dynamic shadows throughout the day. The offset creates a series of unfolding interior vistas, where sharp, clean lines guide the eye through interconnected zones for living, dining, and retreating. It’s a design of geometric purity, where a single, bold decision informs every surface, corner, and view, creating an unapologetically modern home that is both a machine for living and a tranquil sanctuary.

A Study in Serenity: Riverdale Modern – Align 63

Nestled on a quiet, leafy street in the heart of historic Riverdale, this home offers a masterclass in modern design. The exterior’s clean lines and geometric form create a subtle, confident counterpoint to the neighbourhood’s classic Victorian architecture. Inside, an expansive open-concept layout and vast panes of glass dissolve the boundaries between the living space and a private, curated garden. It’s a tranquil retreat designed for contemporary life, offering both a connection to and a peaceful escape from the vibrant community just beyond the front door.
